Kerala has received 47 queries related to tourism industry at the International French Tourism Mart (IFTM), which is being held in Top Resa in Paris. Kerala is a first time participant at the event.
"They include Fram, Escape Mandarin and La Route de Indes," said a Kerala Tourism statement issued on Friday. The statement also mentioned that three French tour operators have shown interest to tap the state's tourism sector.
The delegation "also met several journalists from the trade and general media including Easy Voyage, La Voix Du Nord and Routard", the statement added.
The French form the second largest of the foreign tourists to Kerala, with 52,239 French nationals visiting the state in 2008.
Prior to Paris, the 12-member Kerala delegation led by Tourism Secretary V. Venu had done a road show in Brussels, where they met 109 potential business partners.
It was the first time Kerala Tourism had conducted a road show in Belgium.
After Paris, the delegation be participating in a road show in Rome on Sep 28. Italians form the sixth largest of the foreign tourists to the Indian state.
