The tourism department of Kerala has struck a deal with Jet Airways to offer low-cost air tickets to domestic tourists flying to the state.  A new scheme called 'Jet2Kerala' has been launched on Tuesday (May 12) which will offer travellers tickets and accommodation at discounted rates. According to a statement from Kerala Tourism, the domestic tourists flying to the state will be provided with low-cost tickets of premium as well as business classes. In addition to this, 'Jet2Kerala' scheme will offer accommodation facilities in luxury properties as well as budget hotels.
 
As per the Jet-Kerala Tourism agreement, the private carrier will keep 20 seats reserved in all its domestic flights to Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram for Kerala-bound holiday travellers. The prices of the tickets will be 20-30 percent lower than the usual rates. Passengers can get the low-cost air tickets on Jet Airways flight from Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It is worth mentioning that only holidayers will be able to get the new facility. 

Talking to media, chief commercial officer of Jet Airways, Sudheer Raghavan said that the new initiative has been taken to boost domestic travel and tourism. According to him, the new offer will allure more travellers to visit Kerala this year. Kerala Tourism Secretary V. Venu stated that the state has seen considerable amount of international tourists despite the challenges posed by the global economic downturn.
