The security arrangements at Kerala’s three international were tightened on Saturday (February 21) following bomb threat. Report says that an anonymous call to the Saudi Airlines’ office in Jeddah warned of a bomb blast at an airport in India’s southern state. Talking to media, inspector general of police Vinson M. Paul said that after receiving the message, security has been beefed up at the international airports of Kochi, Kozhikode and Thiruvananthapuram.

According to Paul, the Saudi Airlines is constantly in touch with its office in India and as of now, everything is under control. He said that the anonymous call did not mention the name of any specific airport. No information regarding the origin of the call and other details is available yet. About two years back, the same three airports experienced similar kind of bomb threats.

During that time, it was informed that a bomb had been planted in one of the incoming flights from the Gulf. However, after intense search it was revealed that the bomb threat was a hoax. Meanwhile, the recent message to Saudi Airlines is a matter of concern for the authorities until everything becomes clear.
