The student community in the Kashmir valley have a reason to rejoice as the Kashmir University has resumed its feature radio and news programme – Kashmir University Radio Digest (KURD). The half an hour news and feature digest will be broadcasted from Radio Kashmir Srinagar and apart from current news will provide information about activities in the campus along with overall functioning of the campus. University vice-chancellor Professor Riyaz Punjabi was elated at the news of resuming of Radio Digest. Educational Multi Media Research Center (EMMRC) will be responsible for the broadcast of the radio digest.
Media Education Research students, Sanna Altaf and Danish Abdullah shall be anchoring the programme which will be aired every first and third Thursday at 8.30 pm. Professor Riyaz Punjabi applauded the EMMRC for its production and remarked that perhaps radio digest is one of its kind programme to be launched in India. In his five minute long inaugural message Prof Punjabi divulged information about the University. He remarked that the University has fifty four departments and offers sixty five courses and programmes in diverse disciplines of Science, Arts, Humanities and Technology.
