Karnataka Control of Organized Crime Act (KCOCA) will be in action again. Karnataka CM B S Yeddyurappa has asked officials across the state to use KCOCA to clamp down on terror networks and prevent future attacks. Recently, BJP has been seeking for a tough anti-terror legislation to solve the issue of terrorism across the country. Interestingly, BJP ruled states particularly have been facing terrorist attacks recently.
The statement from Yeddyurappa came when he was addressing a conference of deputy commissioners of districts and senior police officers. He stressed on innovative ideas to nab terrorists and said that there is a need to do introspection on the working of the police force. He asked senior officials to develop cordial relation with public and generate goodwill among them.
He pointed towards the need of posting of efficient personnel in the intelligence wing. He announced the increase in police force budget by 25 more crore in existing 97 crore. Also, the decision has been made to strengthen the Anti-Terror Squad. Similarly, Rs 2 crore has been given to the coastal protection force. The state CM said that government will modernize police and its training.
