The Union Minister for Human Resource Development Kapil Sibal has arrived in the US for holding talks with US Universities for entering into partnership with the proposed 14 innovation universities in India.
He will hold talks with Departments of State and Education officials as well as with the Presidents of US Universities as a part of the steps taken for forging more collaboration in educational field.
He is also set to meet academicians of Indian origin.
Hillary Clinton, during her visit to India in July, had underlined the need for better collaboration in the field on education between the two nations. Sibal will address the same at the Georgetown University, Washington on Thursday.
Sibal met with top officials of three top universities, Howard, Yale and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in New York on Monday and discussed the prospects of partnership and collaboration with elite Indian institutions.
