Juande Ramos was sacked as CSKA Moscow coach on Monday. The announcement came after CSKA’s 3-1 defeat against Russian Premier League rivals FK Moscow on Sunday.
CSKA in their website said, “As of today the contract of Juande Ramos was terminated by mutual consent.”
Ramos, who had earlier served Real Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur , had only a six weeks stint at the army club .He had replaced Brazilian Zico, who was sacked following a string of poor results in September.
Ramos has been replaced by former FK Moscow and Krylya Sovietov Samara coach Leonid Slutsky. The 38-year-old Slutsky will be on a three-year contract. This was informed by CSKA president Yevgeny Giner.
Ramos has to his credit back-to-back UEFA Cups with Sevilla in 2006-07 and also led them to the Champions League knockout round for the first time. Under him CSKA had 3-0 league wins over Samara and Dynamo Moscow.
