Bollywood actor John Abraham has been given green award for creating India’s first elephant village in Maharashtra.

Bollywood’s handsome hunk John Abraham, apart from his Greek god looks, is gifted with a heart of gold. The actor on Thursday, at World Environment Day was honored with the EcoWarrior award in New Delhi. The actor was given the award for helping in creating India’s first elephant village in Maharashtra. The EcoWarrior awards were given as recognition and to honor the crusaders who worked towards the cause of environment.
 
The actor has been working with the grass root communities for a while now for creating habitat for animal welfare. His commitment towards elephants has helped several of these huge animals return to their natural home. The actor at the award ceremony remarked that these awards create awareness about what people do at their level for the environment. He further added that everything begins at a micro level but one has to take it to the macro level. 

The awards are an effort by Earth Matters Foundation, a brainchild of environmentalist filmmaker Mike Pandey. The awards were given to 15 real life environmentalist heroes from diverse field by Vice President Hamid Ansari.
