Jitender Kumar, who was making his Olympic debut, punched his competitor Ulas Furkan Memis from Turkey in less than three rounds to gain entry in the fly weight pre-quarterfinals of the boxing competition at the Beijing Olympics. He led 12-3 before Memis flung in the towel just a few seconds into the third round of the lopsided bout.
As the word go was announced, the Asian Championship bronze medalist Jitender started a bout of straight punches on Memis who was left rushing for cover. He led 5-0 in the first round before widening the lead to 9-2 by the end of the second round.
