Leading private airline of India, Jet Airways is expected to launch direct daily flight services from Mumbai to Kuwait. The carrier announced on Thursday (March 5) that Mumbai-Kuwait service will start operating form March 29. With this, Jet Airways will have the second daily service to Kuwait from India. Currently, the airline operates daily flights from Kochi to Kuwait.
Jet Airways also operates other international fight services from India which ferries passengers to Bahrain, Muscat, Doha, Dubai and Abu Dhabi on daily basis. Commenting on airline's Middle East services, chief executive of Jet Airways, Wolfgang Prock-Schauer stated that the airline has expanded its India-Gulf operations in a very short period of time. He claimed that Jet Airways has evolved out as a formidable brand in the competitive India-Gulf sector.
Jet chief executive informed that the airline company will use Boeing 737-800 aircraft for its Mumbai-Kuwait services. He also added that Mumbai-Kuwait flight services will be able to offer high-quality facilities to the passengers. The proposed flight will take-off from Mumbai at 7.00 p.m. and reach Kuwait at 8.30 p.m. local time. The return flight will leave Kuwait at 9.30 p.m. and arrive in Mumbai at 4.00 a.m. As per estimation, about 550,000 of Indians reside in Kuwait while all the Gulf countries accommodate around 4.82 million Indians.
