After three days of deadlock, the pilots and management of Jet Airways have decided to solve the issue with the management agreeing to restore the four pilots who were fired.  The pilots, who had gone on ‘sick’ leave, have agreed to resume their duties.

Even though the information had not be made in a formal way, Naresh Goyal was forced to adopt the decision due to the tough attitude of the labour and aviation ministries

The formal announcement is expected to be made on Friday, after all those who are involved in the issue will meet in Delhi. The operations of the private air carrier are expected to be normal from Friday afternoon.

Jet ED Saroj Datta, who had been at the chief labour commissioner's office in Delhi, had disclosed that the formation of a union cannot be cited as a cause for firing pilots. Girish Kaushik, who is the leader of the newly formed union, told that, “We will have conciliation talks with the management at the labour commissioner's office in Delhi on Friday. The problem would be solved once all the four boys (pilots) are taken on board. I had a telephonic call with the chief labour commissioner on the issue this morning and he has assured me that justice would be done. If that is done, I will ask my pilots to get onto their jobs within 30 seconds."

Congress MP Sanjay Nirupam, who was supporting the claims of the pilots, have called for the nationalisation of the private air carrier.

There is news that the old Society for Welfare of Indian Pilots will become active with the new union talking the back seat. Naresh Goyal has disclosed that he was forced to make the compromise with the situation as the formation of a union is entirely a legal affair.

After Nirupam, Civil Aviation Minister, Praful Patel, has also called for the resolving of the deadlock at the earliest. He has ordered Goyal to find a solution for the issue as passengers are suffering due to the sky-tiouching fares, which are being charged by the other airlines.

"Last year, Patel was not comfortable with breakaway Sena leader Raj Thackeray getting credit for reinstating of 1,900-odd cabin crew members. This time he did not speak out at all due to the public perception of his being close to airline owners like Goyal and Kingfisher's Vijay Mallya. So he remained purely in the background," said a key player in the entire drama.
