Jet Airways has launched yet another low-cost flight service called Jet Airways Konnect. Informing about the new all-economy service, Jet Airways chief commercial officer Sudhir Raghavan said the fares of Jet Konnect will be 10 to 15 percent lower than the normal Jet Airways economy fares. The service will be available from today (May 8) onwards. The airline company has clarified that the new service has not been launched under JetLite brand.
Initially, eight of Jet Airways’ aircrafts will execute the new Jet Konnect service. The new service will be available on sectors like Chennai-Coimbatore, Chennai-Madurai, Chennai-Kochi, Mumbai-Ahmedabad, Mumbai-Bhopal, Mumbai-Udaipur, Bangalore-Pune and Bangalore-Mangalore. Although Jet Airways staff will provide the passengers with both on-ground and in-flight services but they will need to buy meals on board.
According experts, Jet Airways has taken up the new initiative to combat the fall in market share of full service carriers. The Naresh Goyal-led company hopes that the new move will help Jet Airways to increase its passenger load factor by 30 percent. According Jet Airways' executives, the new low-cost service has been launched to cater to the demands of the people as more and more passengers want low fares as well as the brand.
