Jet Airways, owned by Naresh Goyal, has announced the introduction of its first flight to Hong Kong from Mumbai. With this move, Jet Airways becomes the first private carrier of India to provide commuting service to Hong Kong by air. Wolfgang Prock-Schauer, the airline's Chief Executive Officer said that the Jet Airways views Hong Kong as a strategic market with strong growth opportunities.
Since Hong Kong also happens to be the Gateway to China, he said that Jet Airways saw this move as a very optimistic one. Prock-Schauer further added that he was expecting about 1.10 lakh passengers on the Mumbai-Hong Hong route. It was also revealed that Jet Airways would soon provide same service from Delhi too. Jet Airways has introduced its state-of-the-art Airbus 330-200 on this newly introduced Mumbai-Hong Kong international route with premier and economy class.
