The Rajahmundry flight of Jet airways leaves Hydearabad at 1025 hrs and takes one hour 15 minutes to reach its destination. On its way back to Hyderabad, the flight leaves Rajahmundry at 1215 hrs and reaches Hyderabad at 1330 hrs.
Kingfisher airlines and low-cost carrier Air Deccan already operate daily flights to Tirupati from the caiptal city of Andhra Pradesh.
This move of Jet Airways is being considered significant as large number of devotees throng to Thirupati, one of the most revered shrines of India, every year. Besides adding to the comfort of the devotees and travellers, this will also help in the growth of hotels and tourism industry. At present, there are a dozen decent hotels in Tirupati and with this kind of impetus, some luxury hotels may also come up on city's landscape.
