The low-cost wing of Jet Airways, Jet Airways Konnect, will be giving a boost to its daily flights. There are plans to increase the number of flights to 180 from Oct 1. Currently, about 135 flights are being operated by Jet Airways Konnect on a daily basis.

"Effective September 3, Konnect will launch services on several key domestic routes previously operated by Jet Airways and will have 180 daily flights by Oct 1," the airline said in a statement.

Currently, the five Indian metro cities of Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata are linked by the flights of Jet Airways Konnect. Some of the small cities also enjoy the services.

"Jet Airways Konnect with its low-fare and high quality services has proven to be very popular with travellers across India. With strong demand for Konnect services, we are confident that the new flights will be well-appreciated," Jet Airways chief executive Wolfgang Prock-Schauer said in the statement.
