Hollywood starlet Jennifer Anniston always finds herself in the middle of new controversies as just few days’ back Aniston made conservative TV host Bill O`Reilly furious following her comments over single parenthood and now another issue has emerged criticising the lady for using the word ‘retard’ in a recent interview.
The fuming disability advocates has slammed the actress for using the word on a television. The 41-year old beauty used the word ‘retard’ while answering a question about her recent photo shoot portraying Barbra Streisand at the ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ talk show.
"I play dress up! I do it for a living, like a retard!" the actress quoted.
However, her usage of the word is not taken in a healthy sense by the Disability advocates as they have lashed the ‘The Bounty Hunter’ actress by calling her word, ‘extraordinarily offensive and inappropriate’.
"Sadly, people use the word pervasively even if they don``t realise it," Kirsten Seckler, spokeswoman for the Special Olympics said.
"People with intellectual disabilities have fought their whole lives for understanding and recognition. When people continue to use the `R` word, it`s hurtful," Seckler added.
