Jeev Milkha Singh, the first Indian golfer to become a member of the European tour, ended his eighteen month long title drought, after he lifted the Bank Austria Golf Open on Sunday, June 08, 2008. This was Jeev’s third tour win after he was victorious twice in the 2006 season. At the Fontana Golf club, Jeev reeled off 18 consecutive pars to clinch the Bank Austria Golf Open.

The Chandigarh pro took home a purse of USD 3,36,645 from the USD 2.02 million event. After clinching the title, Jeev remarked that it is to win or to get a W under your belt is what he plays golf for. Jeev further added that the more you have, the better it is for a golfer and more satisfied he feels and more confidence he gets, that is what he is getting out of this. The event was shortened after Thursday’s rains completely washed out the day’s play. Fortunately, the play was completed on Sunday before the storm struck.
