Jeev Milkha Singh dropped to the tenth place on the second day of the Dubai Desert Classic golf tournament. The conditions were far more benign, but this time Jeev Milkha Singh had problems scoring. Unable to find the touch that saw him sail through the desert storm, Jeev, managed only an even par 72 on the second day at the Majlis golf course.
Jeev, who was in a six-way lead on Thursday, dropped to tied tenth, and was four off the lead, which was held by Thai maestro Thongchai Jaidee (66). Thongchai was eight-under 136 and Stephen Dodd (69) and Miguel Angel Jimenez (67) were tied at second place at seven-under 137 in the company of 2009 Race to Dubai winner, Lee Westwood, who scorched the course with a seven-under 65.
Jeev said,"I hung in there even I struggled. I made some huge putts to save par and even to birdie like the 35-footer on par-4 fifth on my second nine. But it was disappointing to miss a three-foot par putt on the ninth, my closing hole. I think I played well in terms staying at par.”
Shiv Kapur, who shot a 74 on first day, scored a 71 and moved up to 47th and comfortably ensure a stay for the weekend. Meanwhile, S.S.P. Chowrasia came back from his first 77 to fire a 69 that saw him make the cut at two-over. Chowrasia was lying 53rd at two-over but he had moved 55 places up from his previous day's 108th position.
Jyoti Randhawa (73), Arjun Atwal (77) and Anirban Lahiri (72) missed the cut.
