Indian golfer Jeev Milkha Singh hit back superbly with a near-perfect round of four-under 68 that propelled him to tied fourth place at the conclusion of the third round of the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup on Saturday, July 26. Singh is now seven-under 209 and is just four shots behind the leader.

Jeev Milkha Singh, 36, emerged successful in the Australian Open the previous month. Even in South Korea and Indonesia, it was a close game for Singh who finished second. During his round, the Indian golfer acquired five birdies and a late bogey on 17^th which positioned him four shots behind leader Sushi Ishigaki (69).

The fourth place was shared by Singh with three other players of Japan - Michio Matsumara (68), Ryoken Kawagishi (71) and Nobuhito Sato (70). Irrespective of the good score, Jeev Milkha Singh did not see an excellent day on the greens, where he required 30 putts for the round.

He even gave away a three-putt bogey on the 17th. He birdied the second and the third, the latter with a chip-in. He added a third birdie on the eighth to turn in three-under. Two more birdies were added on back nine, 11th and 16^th by Jeev Milkha Singh, at which point he was five-under for the day for tied second. He had to drop back with a late bogey on the 17th with a disappointing three-putt.

The fate of Jeev Milkha Singh has kept wavering greatly during this tournament. He began in the first round by being at the fourth, then flipped to the 24^th in next and he is now at fourth again. After the Crowns during the starting of the year, this happens to be Singh’s second tournament in Japan. Jeev is also scheduled to play the Sun Chlorella Classic the coming week.
