Indian-born Jaya Kumar has been chosen as the President of the Quaker Foods and Snacks division by the food and beverages giant PepsiCo. The Quaker Foods is worth $2-billion.
Kumar will be spearheading the division which has a diversified portfolio including the Quaker cereals, Aunt Jemima mixes and syrups as well as the chewy granola bars.
Kumar, who is an IIM-A alumina, will be reporting to the PepsiCo Americas Foods chief executive John Compton, while handling the operations from Chicago. Kumar had been handling the position of chief marketing officer in PepsiCo.
Kumar has gained experience with many FMCG firms including Kraft Foods for 18 plus years, before he joined PepsiCo's Frito-Lay business.
He joins several senior executives of Indian origin who are at the helm of the $43 billion food and beverages giant, including chairman and chief executive Indra Nooyi and senior vice president of corporate strategy Vivek Sankaran.
A PepsiCo statement has stated Kumar as a pivotal player in transforming marketing agenda and key organizational capabilities at Frito-Lays by injecting innovation.
