Samajwadi Party MP, Jaya Bachchan has accused Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati of seeking cheap publicity by targeting her husband, actor Amitabh Bachchan. This stinging allegation on the UP CM came a day after the Barabanki district authorities levied a notice to Amitabh Bachchan. In this notice, the superstar was accused of undervaluing the stamp duty on a plot of land he had purchased in the area. But, Jaya Bachchan was soon to retort.

 

She said Mayawati had this done for cheap publicity so that her name could get associated with Amitabh Bachchan’s. The actor-turned-politician did not even spare the media saying it (media) gave publicity whenever Mayawati attacked Big B. The Additional District Magistrate (Finance) of Barabanki, Shirish Dubey said the cost of the land was Rs 843,639, whereas the shown cost was Rs 6,000 less. He also accused that Amitabh Bachchan paid Rs 695 less in stamp duty. The ADM’s claims were, however, refuted by the actor’s lawyer.
