Jamie Lynn Spears has given birth to a daughter on Thursday, June 19, 2008. This is the first child for 17 year old actress and her 19 year old fiancé Casey Aldridge. The Zoe 101 star announced her pregnancy in December and said that she too was initially surprised to know that she was pregnant. On Wednesday, the teenage actress’ sister Britney Spears and father flew from LA to Kentwood, Louisiana as she prepared to give birth.
The parents have named their daughter Maddie Brian Aldridge. The duo got engaged in March last year and had delayed their wedding until after the birth of their child. Jamie’s pal and teen icon Miley Cyrus revealed that she is proud of her friend and Jamie is really excited after her daughter’s birth. Jamie and Aldridge have purchased a home in Liberty, where the parents plan to raise their daughter. Nickelodeon too issued a statement about the birth of Jamie’s daughter. The children’s channel wished Jamie and her family well. Marianne Romano, Nickelodeon spokeswoman revealed that the channel had already filmed the fourth and final round of Zoe 101 last summer, before Jamie got pregnant.
