Mehul Kumar, a class X student of the Sanjay Public School, Jaipur has made the country proud by being one of the ten winners of the Destination NASA Knowledge Challenge 2008 which has enabled him to participate in a NASA sponsored meet. The Jaipur boy flew to New York via Delhi on Wednesday, May 21, 2008. More than 49,000 students participated in the online competition from the country, out of which ten winners from India were given the prize of participating in the NASA meet.
 
Mehul before leaving for New York remarked that it is like a dream come true for him as NASA always beckoned him. He further stated that his ambition is to become an astronaut or a space scientist and the US visit will give him the opportunity to meet the world’s best scientists and astronauts at the Kennedy Space Center. The other nine toppers are from Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Pune, Chandigarh, Rajkot and Hyderabad. The team of selected students apart from visiting NASA will be going to Science Museum at Washington and Disney World. The ten children were also supposed to call on former President APJ Abdul Kalam in New Delhi before leaving for the US.
