The powerful bomb explosion that took place in Jaipur recently as well as India’s objection to cross border firings will form key issues for deliberation for Foreign Minister Pranab Mukherjee when he visits Pakistan the coming week. As per reports from the intelligence units, Mr Mukherjee is himself getting ‘alarming’ threats to his life following Tuesday, May 13, bomb explosion in Jaipur, in which many were killed.
Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Foreign Minister of Pakistan, on the other hand, has vehemently criticized the blasts in Jaipur. In a recent statement, the Pakistani Foreign Minister said that his country condemned all terror acts in the world and also reiterated its keenness towards eradicating terrorism activities from the core. Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi also sympathized with those who died and injured in the Jaipur blasts.
In a separate recent incident, the Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in the wee hours of Wednesday, May 14. India has officially launched a complaint during a flag meeting of border officials against this and also plans to take up the matter with the Pakistani government during Pranab Mukherjee’s visit to the country. A TV news channels has highlighted that this a serious violation of the international ceasefire agreement made between India and Pakistan.
