'Shoot On Sight' based on the July 2007 London bombings is in trouble; the film allegedly exploits the tragic killing of Brazilian youth Menezes. Jagmohan Mundhra, a London based director, always in dispute for subject matter of his films, admitted that the Menezes' family is being incited into causing trouble. However, he does not seem to give any damn to the issue.
The recently released film has been criticized by many; for they see, the film exploits the tragic killing of the innocent Brazilian bystander Jean Charles de Menezes. Evidently, the Brazilian was mistakenly killed by police at a tube station in London within a week of the London bombings. On the other hand, film director explained that the allegation is totally unfounded.
Mundhra candidly said that the protests are similar to one of protests carried out against Salman Rushdie. He said that not many protesters had read Rashdie's novel 'the Satanic Verses,' but still were against it. Mundhra said that he is used to his biopics getting into trouble. He cited the examples of 'Bawandar' and 'Provoked'. He accepted that he knows how to cope with ordeals like this.
