Julie Coin of France has defeated top seed Ana Ivanovic of Serbia by 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in second round of US Open. This is first time in 40 years history of US Open that the top seeded player has lost in the second round. Julie, who has not even played any Grand Slam before, defeated top seed player with extremely powerful serves, and shots.
 
Ana Ivanovic, after the loss said that she knows that she can play much better; the match was an extremely disappointing loss for her. She admitted that she might have been a little bit nervous going on the court as she had had never seen her playing. She said things went opposite to her thought where she had thought she would win the match slowly and smoothly.
 
It was in 1966 when top seeded women player Billie Jean King had lost to Kerry Melville by 6-4, 6-4 in second round of US Open. On her victory, Coin commented that she felt nervous at the beginning; however, she overcame that once match accelerated. Though, she admits that it was just another match for her, she excitingly said that she does not know, how she would sleep for she is extremely excited.
