Akshay Kumar’s recent release ‘Khatta Meetha’ has not done great at the box office and the chances of it becoming a blockbuster are really low.

‘Khatta Meetha’ has not turned out to be a solid shell movie and overall it is a usual affair seasoned with good comedy, semi-drama and overdose of satire on the politicians. It is another Priyadarshan’s film which can only be moderately judged.

The character of Sachin Tichkule is not able to win the audience as was expected to; instead it has made the movie a semi-drama affair to be watched.

The movie had 70% occupancy rate on the day of its release and then it just dwindled gradually. The content part was the basic problem with the movie; it has a tough outer shell, but inside there is not much meat.

The same case is valid for Priyadarshan’s last creation ‘Bumm Bumm Bole’ and even it didn’t enjoy good Bollywood reviews. Even the word of mouth hasn’t been good for ‘Khatta Meetha’.

The opening amount grossed 22 crores which is lower than Akshay’s last release ‘Housefull’. It is even going to fade very soon as its time of release is not proper, it is released just before two upcoming and most awaited movies, ‘Once Upon..’ and ‘Aisha’. Both the movies are desperately awaited by the audience, so in between ‘Khatta Meetha’ didn’t work out well.

Well, the movie will fall flat to the ground in its second week due to the other lined up releases and the diversion of the audiences to see them.
