Actor Irrfan Khan already has the honor of working with critically acclaimed director Mira Nair in The Namesake. The actor has however refused to work with Nair in her next film with Konkona Sen Sharma in the lead. Irrfan reveals that earlier he had said yes to Mira, but after reading the script he begged off. He further divulged that the reason for his opting out was that the script was based on marital discords and he has already had his share of working on the tales of marital journey.
Irrfan has only recently completed filming for Mira Nair’s another film titled ‘Kosher Vegetarian’. In this film he is paired opposite American-Israeli actress Natalie Portman. The actor remarked that he was deeply challenged by his role in ‘Kosher Vegetarian’. Irrfan revealed that in the film he is playing a Gujarati diamond merchant whose wife has become a sanyasini. Talking about his experience on working in Kosher Vegetarian, Irrfan remarked that after ‘The Namesake’, he has become an ardent fan of Mira Nair the moviemaker and the person.
