Irfan Pathan Not In Champions Trophy
Irfan Pathan is not in the list of 30 probables for the Champions trophy to be played in South Africa in September. All-rounder Yusuf Pathan on Wednesday denied commenting on the omission of his younger brother Irfan Pathan.
On Tuesday, Yusuf was quoted as saying that Irfan "has not been left out because of his performance."
In a statement Wednesday, Yusuf said that he didn't make any comments on the selection matters or about Irfan's exclusion.
"The remarks attributed to me are totally baseless and wrong. I was asked to comment on the omission of Irfan Pathan from the Champions Trophy probables. To which I clearly said, 'It is not for me to comment on selection matters' and got up from the press conference," said Yusuf in a statement.
"A couple of people came after me and kept repeating similar question and trying to put words into my mouth. Even here I said, 'I have nothing to say' and made an exit from the venue. I didn't make any comment on selection matters," he said.
