Irfan Pathan has failed to get a contract in the latest retainership list released by the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Baroda pacer missed a place in the list because of his absence from the domestic season last year.
However Delhi pacer Ashish Nehra, who made a comeback after recovering from injury, has found a place in the retainer list.
Irfan was in Grade B contract list last year with a retainership of Rs 40 Lakhs. It is surprising that the Baroda lad is also not in the Grade C and Grade D categories.
BCCI sources said,"Irfan Pathan has to prove his worth in the Ranji Trophy this season. Irfan missed a lot of matches in the last domestic season.”
