The prime minister of Iraq, Nouri al-Maliki has urged all the Arab and Muslim countries to break up their ties with Israel following Israeli military attacks on Gaza. Claiming Israeli government as a murderous regime, the prime minister of Iraq said that all the Muslim countries should cancel their diplomatic relations and stop all contacts with the Jewish state. Nouri al-Maliki condemned Israel for its diabolic aggression against unarmed civilians.

He said that there are dispute worldwide but none of the sides ever followed Israel's path of killing children and women which is very unacceptable. He complained about the slow action of international community regarding the Israel issue and urged them to take fast decisions to stop the massacres against the Palestinian people. Israel has recently attacked three schools run by the UN in the Gaza Strip. Since Israel began operations on Gaza more than 10 days ago some 680 Palestinians have been killed.

Iraq which urged other countries to cease their relation with Israel holds no diplomatic ties with the Jewish state. Jordan and Egypt are the only two Arab states to sign peace deals with Israel. Both came under strong Arab pressure to do more to prevent Israeli attacks on Gaza. Iraqi premier's statements that came in the wake on attacks in Gaza also asked the UN Security Council to take immediate decision on the Israel issue.
