Iran is likely to test its first nuclear plant at Bushehr on Wednesday (February 25). The head of Russia's state Rosatom Atomic Corporation, Sergey Kiriyenko will come down to Iran to attend the preliminary tests of the Bushehr plant. Meanwhile, Iran's recent decision is not supported by the international community. Earlier, the United States, Israel and some European nations had charged Iran for trying to produce nuclear weapons.

The western countries have continuously criticized Russia for supporting Iranian nuclear program. According to reports, Russia has supplied enriched uranium for the plant's operation in addition to helping Iran to build the 1,000-megawatt reactor. According to a report of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Iran had accumulated 2,227 pounds of low-enriched nuclear fuel by January.

The preliminary test known as virtual fuel-injection test is supposed to be an important step for the full launch of Bushehr nuclear power plant. According to media reports, the construction of the nuclear plant is in its final stages and Russian side has increased the number of staff to speed up the work. The 1,000-megawatt power unit employs 700 Iranian engineers who were trained in Russia to operate the plant.
