The Cupertino based company Apple Incorporation on Monday, May 12, 2008 revealed that its online stores in the UK and the US have sold out iPhones. Apple Inc confirmed that the iPhone is out of stock online in Britain and the United States. However, those who have not been able to book the iPhone online, there is still hope as brick-and-mortar stores run by Apple and iPhone carriers including AT&T Inc may still have some units available.
The shortage of stocks of Apple iPhones is a sign that supplies are going to be way too less than the demand for the next generation communication device. The next gen Apple iPhone is expected to be unveiled in June this year at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Natalie Kerris, Apple Spokeswoman declined to state any reasons for the paucity of the phone.
Apple has however been expanding the reach of the iPhone by tying up with wireless carriers around the world. On Monday, May 12, 2008 Apple announced that it has partnered with four mobile providers in the Asia-Pacific region.
