Intel has launched its Centrino2 at San Francisco, USA. The new gadget will have high performing processor, and will be a Wi-Fi/ Wimax (optional). The technology which had to be released in Taipei in June this year, due to certain reasons was postponed till now. The new gadget will have better Hardware such as InsightsWhite, PapersHP Blade Servers for Everyone, besides Rightsizing Blades for the Midmarket ReportsRolling Review Wrap-Up etcetera.
On the other hand Centrino2 for wireless modules will have Wi-Fi support with the option of using a WiMax add-on card. Also, customers will have option for using Intel's combo Wi-Fi/WiMax module, codenamed Echo Peak. Major laptop manufacturers such as Lenovo, Acer, Asus, Panasonic, and Toshiba have all consented to carry the combination Wi-Fi and WiMax chipsets when the technology will be operational, said an official source from Intel.
According to some analysts Dell, Hewlett-Packard, and Toshiba are likely to use this technology. Other companies such as Acer, Asus, Fujitsu, HP, NEC, and Toshiba are already lined up to use AMD's Puma. Interestingly, Centrino 2 will have a second-generation Core 2 Duo processor, codenamed Penryn, and the chip having clock speed ranging from 2.26 GHz to 3.06 GHz will be another major attraction of new gadget.
