Infosys Technologies, the second largest software exporter in India, is investing Rs 1,250 crore to establish a new campus in Hyderabad. As revealed by NR Narayana Murthy, chairman of the board and chief mentor of Infosys, this new campus would be the company’s largest facility in the world. This 444-acre campus will be the part of special economic zone (SEZ), which is a tax-free zone dedicated to promote exports.
 
The existing campus of the company has around 11,000 employees, and the second campus is expected to employ about 25,000 people in a time of ten years. The first phase of the campus, which requires an investment of Rs 600 crore, will be completed in three years and will provide a seating capacity of 10,000 people. Further Mohandas Pai, a member of the board Infosys, revealed that the company is building SEZs at Pune, Mangalore, Jaipur, Gurgaon and Trivandrum, and will add 25,000 people in these centres in 2008.
