The trials and tribulations in the life of former dynamic Indian Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi will soon be portrayed in a television series titled ‘Indira Gandhi’ on the Hindi entertainment channel 9X. This news was formally announced by the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the 9X channel Indrani Mukerjea recently. ‘I feel privileged and proud to announce that we are bringing a major and unprecedented series titled Indira Gandhi to television’, stated Mukerjea.

‘It will be based on the story of the iconic, inspirational and extraordinary lady whose fate was entwined with the future of a billion people,' the 9X CEO went on to add about the serial. The Indira Gandhi TV series has been shot both in Hindi as well as in English and it will outline the life of the dynamic Indian leader in the role of a wife, mother and a political leader. Officials from the 9X channel have, however, not divulged as to which actress is going to play the role of Indira Gandhi in the new TV series.
