The policy makers of Indian government believe that India has a better climate change plan in comparison to China. They suggest that India has an evolved and far-sighted climate change policy than China. Senior officials revealed that India’s action plan focused on energy security and sustainable development while China’s plan mainly focused on emission reduction.
The neighboring China had released its climate change action plan in 2007. China recently overtook America in terms of total emissions. The senior officials of India remarked that India neither was a major emitter nor would it get there. They further revealed that India’s plan bases itself on energy security as this is the flip side of climate change. India is now heading to the G-8 summit to face the world on its climate change strategy.
