Rahul Dravid has been dropped from the squad for the ODI series against Australia. Dravid had made a return to 50-overs format after a hiatus of 2 years. The 15 member squad that has been announced for 7 match ODI series against Australia includes Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh.
Opener Virender Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh made a comeback in the squad after recovering from injuries.
Sehwag has not been playing cricket for last three months due to an injury he sustained during the semi-finals of the IPL.He also could not play in the World T20 Cup in England as injury to his right shoulder needed surgery. Yuvraj Singh also has been nursing a finger injury that kept him out of the Champions Trophy.
Yusuf Pathan and RP Singh also have been dropped from Indian ODI team.
"Selectors are advised that Yuvraj would definitely be fit to play on October 28. It is possible that he may be able to play the first match as well," BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement.
"The decision on the playing XI for the first match will be made based on Yuvraj's fitness on October 25," he added.
