India has accepted an invitation from British and French navies to participate in naval war game. Traditionally, after World War I, the Atlantic Ocean has been the stage for strategic warfare for navies of the entire world. However, it will be the first time that India will be participating in these games which last for 15 days, and test navy capabilities.

                                          

A Navy officer commented that the Indian Navy is working out the itinerary for the exercises in the Atlantic Ocean, and for that they are going to test sonar and other equipment in different environmental conditions and the exercises would provide the right opportunity. Evidently, during the exercise all the three components of naval operation will be tested.

 

Accordingly, the Indian Navy would like to deploy all three components during the exercise to gauge their effectiveness. Similarly, India would deploy its warships and other vessels for the exercise. Looking into the situation the decision on the deployment of the Indian Navy's lone aircraft career INS Viraat may be done. However, as of now INS Viraat is under renovation and may touch sea again.
