The winner of last year's Indian Idol title, Prashant Tamang is all set to make his debut in films. The 24-year-old police constable will feature in a Nepali movie which will be made on his life, struggle and eventual victory.  Besides Prashant, the other stars include Nepali film industry's most charismatic hero Rajesh Hamal, action hero Ramit Dhungana and sultry actress Jharana Thapa. The script is written by the Prashant Tamang himself.
 
The first venture of debutant director Dinesh Raj Sharma is yet get a title. The film deals with the artistic, mental and physical struggles that Prashant Tamang had faced to win the popular television reality show. Prashant who was born in Tungsung village in Darjeeling district of India's West Bengal state received massive supports from his fans during last year's Indian Idol show. The lean and thin police constable was converted to a celebrity after the winning the talent-hunt show of Sony Entertainment Television channel.
 
The proposed movie will be shot in Sikkim and Darjeeling. Part of the film will also be shot in Nepal, where Prashant received a hero's welcome after winning the contest. The shooting for the film is expected to begin by February, 2009 when Prashant will be freed of the contract. The movie will have songs from Prashant himself and Udit Narayan who was one of the 'Indian Idol' judges.
