Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram has once again stressed that the government of India is committed to put an end to the militancy in Jammu and Kashmir by means of a unique solution.
Chidambaram, while addressing the All India Editors Conference on Social and Infrastructure in Srinagar, mentioned that government has no issues for holding talks with the different political parties of Jammu and Kashmir.
“There is no place for violence in the state despite differences in political outlook. The unique solution will be found out recognising the unique history and geographical location of Jammu and Kashmir. The dialogue will not be in full media glare. It will be a quiet dialogue,” he added.
He also mentioned that government is working on a solution which will be honourable, equitable and acceptable to all the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking on the comprehensive economic reconstruction proposal of Manmohan Singh, which is about Rs. 25,000 crore worth, he mentioned that the effective implementation of the proposal will be done under close monitoring.
“Secretaries from Government of India will visit the state from next month to oversee the implementation of the package in the areas like agriculture, health, education, tourism and employment generating industries,” he added.
