Indian film Staying Alive directed by Ananth Mahadevan is making waves at film festivals around the world. It has now been selected for a screening at the 5th Stuttgart Bollywood and Beyond film festival which will kick off from July 16 onwards in Germany. To be shown on the closing day of the film festival on July 20, the story of Staying Alive is based on a genuine experience of the late writer Sujit Sen.

Director Ananth Mahadevan himself along with Saurabh Shukla are the main protagonists of this film. Due to heart attack, the characters portrayed by Mahadevan and Shukla share a common room in the ICU ward of a hospital. The film has beautifully captured the contrast in how both the characters perceive their conditions. While one makes fun about it because he is seasoned as it is his third attack, the other is terrified on experiencing his first. Staying Alive is a movie about being thankful at the joy of just staying alive.

Clearly director cum actor Mahadevan is very happy with the way Staying Alive is being received worldwide. Speaking about its screening at the film festival in Germany, he said, 'Presence in Festivals gives your film a lot of exposure and it is a great joy to see your film amidst world cinema. The journey of Staying Alive to the Bollywood and Beyond Festival at Stuttgart, Germany will definitely pave the way for the film to reach out to International audiences.' This mid-budget film is slated to release in India very soon.
