The largest-ever joint ground combat exercises of India and US, known as 'Yudh Abhyas' (war study), was launched on Monday at Babina in Uttar Pradesh.
The exercise, which is for a period of two weeks, will have the trainees from Mechanised Infantry Battalion of the Indian Army and Second Squadron of 14th Cavalry Regiment of 25 Stryker Brigade Combat Team, totalling to about 325 US army men. The exercise is being implemented for sharing experiences which they have used for initiating peace process during various situations as well as humanitarian work adopted during disaster relief situations.
The exercises will get over on Oct 29. Babina is a cantonment in Jhansi district of Uttar Pradesh.
Yet another joint exercise of India and US, titled, 'Cope India-09', which is meant for the air force of both the nations, is expected to kick off in Agra on Oct 19.
