In the hope to see a modern nation with new prospects, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that India hopes to send a spacecraft to the moon in 2008. Further, it was declared as “an important milestone” in the country’s future plans in the development of space programme. The PM said that this year an Indian spacecraft, Chandrayan, is projected to be sent to the moon. He further added that he wishes to see a modern India, filled with a scientific temper, where the pros of modern knowledge surge to all sections of society.
