The two-day India-Nepal bilateral talks, which are slated to kick off on Friday, will be discussing issues on tackling terrorism as well as trans-border crimes.
Union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai will depart for Kathmandu on Thursday for holding discussions with Home Secretary of Nepal, Govind Prasad Kusum.
"The talks will be held on the sixth and seventh of this month. Kusum, home secretary of Nepal, will lead his country's delegation at the talks. The two sides will discuss issues of bilateral concern relating to security and border management," said a press statement from the home ministry.
Nepal is expected to urge India to help the former for tackling the criminal incidents happening in Terai region. India will be holding talks on criminal and terrorism issues as well as the inflow of fake Indian currency from Nepal.
The meeting is part of a network of institutional mechanisms that India and Nepal have set up in the area of security cooperation. Pillai may also be holding talks with Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal as well as Home Minister Bhim Rawal.
