Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has slammed India for not resuming the stalled bilateral dialogues. He has also called for the intervention of international community to act as mediator and solve the issues between the two Asian sub-continents, including Kashmir.

The Pakistani PM is currently in Germany. He said that New Delhi is not committed for the resumption of peace dialogues.

“India is stalling the dialogue process and the European Union must play its role to bring it back to the negotiating table for resolving all outstanding issues, including the core issue of Kashmir, between the two countries”, said Gilani while holding a meeting with German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwell in Berlin.

But he has lauded the efforts taken by the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for resolving the outstanding issues between the two nations, mentioning that Pakistan believes the presence of a friendly environment for resuming and continuing the dialogues.

He has also mentioned that India-Pakistan toes are essential for the stability of the entire region.

Gilani, who was addressing the media, had violently slammed the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s comment that the Al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden was residing in Pakistan. He has also criticized the US and the UK for not sharing information regarding the Al Qaeda leaders in Pakistan.

Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has also mentioned that Pakistan was willing for resuming the bilateral dialogues with India, but has put the blame on India’s political compulsions for refusing to resume the bilateral talks.

“Well, we did get a chance to meet, we were under the same roof. I met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, I met Foreign Minister Krishna, but there was no dialogue. There are political compulsions, lack of consensus on what to do. So whenever they (India) are ready, they know how to get in touch with me”, he said.

He said Pakistan is interested in “only meaningful and productive talks with India”, adding that “New Delhi has failed to respond to Islamabad’s goodwill gestures”.
