India will clash with Argentina on Sunday, May 18, 2008 for the title win of Azlan Shah Hockey tournament. The Indian team booked a birth for itself in the finals after it defeated host Malaysia in the semi-finals played on Saturday, May 17, 2008. By pulling off the narrow 2-1 win, India gathered 12 points from there six matches to set up for the title clash against Argentina on Sunday.
 
India did an impressive turn around in the tournament after losing first two matches. India has made it to the Azlan Shah Cup final after a gap of twelve years. The Argentines who have 14 points in their hands, debuted in the Azlan Shah Hockey tournament in 2006 where they finished seventh in an eight team tournament. In the crucial Saturday match, first half goals by Shivendra Singh (9th) and Sandeep Singh (10th) gave India the lead. The team maintained the 2-0 lead till the last moment before Mohammad Amin Rahim of Malaysia scored a consolation goal for his team. India and Argentina will clash for the 17th Azlan Shah Cup today.
