India beat Ireland by 8 wickets in their group match at Trent Bridge. Zaheer Khan ripped through the Irish batting line-up as India restricted Ireland to 112/8. The match had a delayed start and was reduced to 18-overs-a-side. India won the toss and chose to field. Zaheer produced a superb spell of fast bowling to take 4/19.

Andrew White was the highest scorer for Ireland with 29 runs to his credit. Ireland did not have a single decent partnership. Other Indian bowlers supported Zaheer well. Ojha accounted for Kevin O’Brien’s wicket. The hero in the match against Bangladesh, Kevin did not trouble the scorers against India.
