India’s science and technology minister Kapil Sibal has said that India will be able to wrap up nuke deal with US by September end. He affirmed that India is confident of getting the support of the Nuclear Suppliers’ Group. His comments have come in the eve of his visit to Finland and Sweden.
Talking about his visit and his efforts for the deal he said he is positive about the responses from these countries. Though he assured for the support of NSG states, in same breath he said to wait and watch for the future events. He promised that India would be able to convince NSG members with its contention.
Kapil Sibal is in a mission to convince two of the difficult countries in the 45-nation NSG, Finland and Sweden. Both the countries have been keen on nuclear non-proliferation and it would be hard to convince them. Sibal an esteemed lawyer will underline India's impeccable non-proliferation record to them.
Similar to Kapil Sibal, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma is in mission to convince Ethiopia, Ghana, Nigeria and South Africa to show India’s non-proliferation history and its need for nuclear energy. Commenting on the visit Sibal said the process is on and beyond that he would not say anything the moment.
