Thanks to the blistering knock by Virender Sehwag, India defeated England by six wickets in the fifth ODI of the seven-match series at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday night.  India now lead the series 5-0. Sehwag was named the Man-of-the-Match for his superb 91 runs innings.

Sehwag playing in his typical fashion hit 15 boundaries and one six to reach 91 off 73 balls. Tendulkar, though took a bit of time to settle himself, hit six boundaries to score a half century. India suffered a minor setback in the middle when Sachin, Sehwag Yuvraj were out in quick succession. But skipper Dhoni (50) and Raina (53) went about the task in a clinical fashion as they added 94 runs.

Earlier, riding on Kevin Pietersen's unbeaten 111, England scored a challenging 270. Pietersen scored his first century as captain and was involved in a 112-run stand with Owais Shah (66 not out) to steer England to safety after they were 158 for four.

The new opening combination of Ravi Bopara and Alistair Cook did not click as the latter gave his wicket to Zaheer Khan when he was caught by Sachin Tendulkar in slips.  Zaheer struck again in the 10th over claiming Bopara.

Harbhajan Singh removed Paul Collingwood (40) while big-hitting Andrew Flintoff was dismissed by Ishant Sharma. Later, Pietersen along with Owais Shah guided the team to 270.
